About the practice

Fourteen years in the Air Force. A lifetime around the mission.

Rose Financial Management exists because the people who fly the mission deserve an advisor who has lived their world, not just read about it.

Kevin Rose

Financial Advisor.
Instructor pilot.
Test pilot.

Founder of Rose Financial Management, serving clients across the country.

Kevin spent fourteen years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as an instructor and operational test pilot, logging more than 2,000 flight hours. He commanded a test and evaluation squadron at Edwards AFB, flying test missions on the KC-46, KC-135, and C-17. Before that, he ran the innovation lab at McConnell AFB, where he taught more than 5,000 Airmen in design thinking and rapid prototyping, and served as deputy chief of wing tactics developing tactics for the KC-46A Pegasus.

Along the way he completed a Defense Ventures fellowship with Moonshots Capital, evaluating dual-use technology startups, and earned a Masters of Innovation Design from Wichita State University and a postgraduate credential from MIT Sloan on human and AI collaboration in the workforce.

Then he went through the same transition his clients face. The deadlines, the paperwork, the TSP decision, the gap between the last military paycheck and the first civilian one. That experience is why the practice specializes where it does: the transitions are navigable, but almost nobody hands you the checklist.

Today Kevin delivers financial planning, investment management, and transition guidance to airline pilots, military professionals and the veterans they become, and high performers whose households run on one person's expertise: physicians, engineers, and business owners. The discipline comes from his first career: brief the plan, fly the plan, debrief the plan.

The philosophy

Why air traffic control
is the right metaphor.

The pilot

You fly the airplane

In aviation, the controller never touches the controls, and neither do we. Whatever you fly, whatever your world is, you have the agency, you make the decisions, and the plan is yours to run.

The controller

We watch the sky

The controller's value is the broader view: traffic you can't see, weather building behind you, the runway environment twenty miles out. Earlier visibility means better decisions, made sooner.

The loop

Observe, orient, decide, act

Every review looks forward, not backward. What's coming next, how preparation is going, and which decision windows open or close before we talk again. Then the loop runs again.

Why this focus

A deliberately narrow practice.

Depth beats breadth

An advisor who serves everyone knows a little about everything. An advisor who serves people in high-stakes transitions knows the TSP, VA compensation, airline retirement plans, and PCS tax questions in depth, because they come up every week.

The wealth-building decades

Most firms concentrate on the five years before retirement. We concentrate on the thirty years before that, when careers climb, income arrives early or unevenly, and decisions compound the longest. Built for the climb, not just the descent.

"You deserve to live the life you dream about. You need the best information and guidance to get there."
